Arcad is telling Bansir about his journey in discovering The Laws of Prosperity and Abundance. He learned to seek out people that were prosperous, for wisdom. He also learned a well known secret Law of Prosperity. Well known because most people know it to be true, a secret because very few people see the powerful effects of it. Yet it is indeed the foundation of true prosperity and wealth.
He learned to pay himself first. Arcad had done this for twelve months. Upon his mentors return, the money lender asks how he has faired with paying himself first.
Arcad have you paid yourself first? Yes!
Well done, and what have you done with the money? I gave it to a bricklayer to buy jewels in Phoenecia. When he returns we will sell the jewels for a high price and divide the profits. The money lender laughs.
Every fool must learn. Why trust the knowledge of a bricklayer with jewels? Would you trust a breadmaker about the stars? Your savings are gone. You have uprooted your wealth tree, try again. Next time talk to a jewel merchant about jewels.
He that takes advice about his savings from the inexperienced shall pay with his savings.
He continued paying himself a tenth copper now it was habit, and no longer difficult. Twelve months later the money lender, came to see how he was doing. Arcad said, he faithfully saved every tenth copper. He entrusted a shield maker to buy bronze, and every fourth month he gives him rental money.
Good, what do you do with the money? I threw a feast, and bought a tunic. To which the money lender laughed, you eat the children of your savings, how do you expect them to work for you? First get an army of golden slaves, then have a banquet without regret.
Two years later the money lender returned and inquired about Arcads wealth. What I have, earns more, and that earns more. You have learned well Arcad.
First, you learned to live on less then you earn.
Second, you have learned to seek advice from competent and experienced people.
Third, you learned to make gold work for you.
You have taught yourself: “3 Laws Of Successfully Handling Wealth”
–how to acquire money
–how to keep it
–how to use it
The money lender was getting old and asked Arcad to become his partner. He soon died and Arcad was given his portion.
Arcad told this story to answer Bansirs questions about wealth and prosperity. Upon which his friends said, he was fortunate, or lucky. He said, I was fortunate I had a desire before I met the money lender.
Friends, you have strong willpower. He laughed at their answers. Than they said, the years have passed and we are old, what can we now do to build wealth.
Arcad said, take the wisdom of Algamish, “A part of all I earn is mine to keep”.
Say it:
-in the morning
-at noon
-in the evening
-say it every hour of everyday
-say it to yourself until the words stand out like fire in the sky.
-impress yourself with the idea
-fill yourself with the thought
Lay aside one tenth, let it not be less and let it become more, pay yourself first.
Soon you will realize what a treasure it is, as it grows so will your faith. A new joy will spring up in your life.
Greater opportunities to grow your wealth will come, and that will be yours to keep as well.
THEN
-Learn to make your treasure work for you. Make it your slave. Make it’s children, and childrens children work for you.
-Invest thy treasure with great caution that it be not lost.
-provide for thy family, if you die, small interval payments are better then one large sum.
-Counsel with wise men, a small return is better then high risk (bricklayer).
-Enjoy life, do not overstrain, do not try to save too much, but at least one tenth.
At this his friends went away:
-some did not understand, they had no imagination.
-some sarcastic, thought their old friend should share his wealth with them
-Some, the light had come on, they understood Arcad had to work it out in his own experience than the opportunity to partner with the wealthy became reality.
These were the ones that came back to Arcad for advice for many years. He counselled them and helped them to invest wisely, safely and profitably.
